I think it's cute that so many Jalops love the only VolksPorsche to have a vinyl roof.

In high school, before I could drive, I would walk by a house on my way to school that had a 914 sitting in the drive slowly being worked on. It was there throughout my high school years(only the required 3), after graduation one day I just noticed that it was not there. Not sure if he/she ever got it running or just sold it, but even though it was not my car I will probably never forget it.
